Playschool

For children aged 2 ½ - 3 + this is a wonderful introduction to the world of imaginative play, music, art, and social interaction. Our All Day care children over 2½ years of age move to our Playschool room. We also accept children on a daily basis for Playschool only - 9.15 to 12.15 pm. Extra hours may be added on at additional cost. Children over 3 years of age will qualify for free pre-school under the ECCE scheme and move to our pre- Montessori room as soon as places are available

Our typical day includes free play, when children may dress up, play with puzzles, cars, dolls, bricks, blocks etc. After snack time we have our group activity which may be circle time, art work, playdoh, singing, nursery rhymes, story time etc. Weather permitted, the children will go outside to visit our animals and play in the playgrounds.

We are happy to take children if they are still in nappies and will support any toilet training initiative you may have started at home

The children may bring a packed lunch, e.g. sandwiches, fruit, yoghurt and a drink, every day. It is requested that children do not bring sweets into school. A lunch is provided by us for children staying all day.

Each child should bring the following items at the beginning of the new year: Slippers, wellies, recent photo. Each item (including coats and bags) must be clearly marked with your child's name.

At the beginning of the year, we take orders for specially designed School sweatshirts and poloshirts.

Pre- Montessori & Montessori

Our Montessori is part of the government ECCE scheme and all qualifying children may avail of this service free of charge for 2 years.

For children aged 3 - 5 our Montessori programme presents children with a balance between freedom and structure

Our Montessori teachers are Linda and Breeda with Lisa as their assistant. Linda has years of experience as Montessori teacher and creche manager. She qualified with a diploma from St. Nicolas Montessori college. Breeda is also Montessori trained and is qualified as a special needs assistant. Breeda has over 10 years experience in child care. Lisa qualified in 2015 with QQI level 6 advanced certificate in early childhood care and education.

It is the teachers job not to lead and lecture, but to observe and follow, sensing when the child is ready to try something new and being ready to present it as close to the perfect time as possible.  Hours for Montessori: 9.15 - 12.15 pm daily

Extra hours may be added on at additional cost

Our classrooms are large, bright and beautifully arranged, designed for the child's comfort, security and enjoyment. The activities are arranged on low shelving units within reach of even the smallest children. They may work, uninterrupted for long periods of time at tables or on small mats on the floor where they are naturally comfortable. The pace is unhurried and although the curriculum is structured, each child moves through it at his or her own pace. The children are free to choose activities which capture their interest and new activities are introduced as each child is ready for them.

Our After School Room has a variety of games and activities for the children.

Children from other schools are welcome however transport must be arranged by the parents. All children must be collected by 6 pm

During the Summer months we organize several weeks of Summer Camps with different themes, different activities and make extensive use of our Outdoor spaces.

Holiday Care

We are open for school age children throughout school holidays daily from 7.30am - 6 pm. (except Christmas week and bank holidays) We organise activities during these times raging from sport & fun games to art and craft.

We appreciate that children need a break from regime during these holidays so we encourage a lot of free play, imaginative play, art and craft and outside play. In other words, lots of fun and relaxation for the children.

We provide all meals during the day

Holiday Care can be booked on a weekly, daily or part-time basis in advance. Application forms need to be filled in and returned to us before commencement.
